Using and Caring for ZERO JAPAN Ceramics

ZERO JAPAN ceramics are designed for everyday use. With normal care the pieces can remain part of daily routines for many years.

Stoneware is a durable material and the glazes are developed to handle regular use in the kitchen and at the table.

Dishwasher and microwave use

Most ZERO JAPAN glazes are suitable for dishwasher and microwave use, making the pieces easy to integrate into daily life.

Some specialty finishes require more careful handling. These include:

  • Antique Gold
  • Antique Silver
  • Crackle glazes
  • Kikko glazes

For these finishes hand washing is recommended in order to protect the surface over time.

Everyday use

ZERO JAPAN ceramics are made for regular use at the table and in the kitchen.

Like any ceramic product, they can chip if they hit hard surfaces, so normal care when handling and washing the pieces is recommended.

Tea preparation

ZERO JAPAN teapots are designed for loose leaf tea and everyday brewing.

The stainless steel strainer and lid can be removed, making the teapot easy to clean after use.

In most cases it is enough to rinse the teapot with warm water and allow it to dry naturally. If needed, a soft sponge can be used to remove tea residue.

Over time a teapot may develop light staining inside from tea leaves. This is normal and does not affect the performance of the ceramic.

Long term enjoyment

Ceramics that are used regularly often become part of daily routines. Cups return to the table again and again, teapots are used for quiet moments during the day, and kitchen pieces remain in place for years.

With simple care, these objects can continue to be enjoyed for a long time.
